CISA Mourns the Passing of Anthony Offor
The Council of Igbo States in Americas (CISA) mourns the passing of one of its executives, Chief Engr. Sir Anthony I. Offor (MS-CT, ACSLS, CFA, CDCP).
Until his passing on June 6, 2020, Chief Offor held the twin positions of (1) CISA Chair, Festival Planning Committee and (2) CISA DSG, Economic Council. He was an educationist in information technology. He was also President Emeritus of Ndi Igbo in Northern Virginia (NINVA) and held leading roles in the Imo community in Northern Virginia. He was elected two terms as financial secretary of Ndi Igbo in Northern Virginia (NINVA) before leading the group as President.
Chief Offor also held the position of Global Development Director and Chief Financial Officer of Igbo People In Diaspora (IPID), a nonprofit dedicated to developing youth potential and enabling youths to flourish in Igboland without relying on government assistance.
News of Chief Offor’s death at age 55 came as a shock to CISA members, most of whom had worked closely with Chief Offor and admired his many endearing qualities including team spirit, a can-do attitude and readiness to selflessly serve the Igbo community at home and Diaspora.
Chief Offor was laid to rest on July 27, 2020. May his soul rest in peace.
He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and the Igbo Community at large.
