Special Thanks to Everyone Who Attended the 2017 Igbo World Festival

The Council of Igbo States in Americas (CISA) thanks the hundreds of individuals and organizations that attended and supported our 2017 Igbo World Festival of Arts and Culture held July 27-29, 2017 at Igbo Village in Staunton, Virginia, USA.

Special thanks to Chief John Nnia Nwodo, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Igbo leaders who graced the occasion; various cultural groups and masquerades that entertained our guests; presenters that enlightened us; dozens of youths that showcased their talent and skills; staff of the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia (many of whom went above and beyond); and everyone who traveled far and near to participate in the Festival.

Together, we shared many fun moments (and could-have-done-better moments), made new connections, reconnected with old friends, proudly celebrated our cultural heritage and raised thousands of dollars despite the rainfall that spanned 2 out of 3 Festival days.

We could not have done it without you!

May the Lord be with you as you return home and may He reward you for supporting CISA. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Dr. Edward Nwachi

President, CISA
